P2 had a busy day investigating materials. We wanted to find the best material for an umbrella for Barney Bear. We decided to test cardboard, fabric, tissue paper, kitchen roll and plastic as they are all flexible. First we predicted which material we thought would be waterproof. Then we carried out a fair test and recorded our results. We found out that the plastic was the best material as it was waterproof. All the others absorbed the water so wouldn’t be suitable for an umbrella.
